Elevråd, interesse og demokrati

Vi lurer av og til på hvorfor det går åt skogen med demokratiet. Svaret er (heldigvis) at det går bedre enn noen gang med demokratiet. Men det er ikke nødvendigvis skolens fortjeneste. Intervjuet under er med en rektor fra Bergensområdet (min utheving, men les hele avsnittet):

One headteacher explained that when the student councils over the years repeatedly wished to have the opportunity to buy mineral water and Coke at school she just refused. She added that the students were not reticent but tried to discuss and negotiate. Which was fine, in a way, she remarked, but she said that it could be a bit annoying. She was asked whether the students sometimes made her change her mind. She said that it had happened. She could not remember any examples, but added ‘not in cases as important as mineral water’.
